Why You Lyin: TikTok About Taylor Swift's Abandoned Mansion

Did Taylor Swift attempt to build her parents a grand mansion and then abandon it? One TikTok user posted a video claiming exactly that, while showing off a huge and neglected mansion (video posted below).

However, Internet sleuths and residents of the great state of Pennsylvania pointed out that Taylor did not own this home. Instead, the land the home is on was purchased in 1997 for $110,000. From there, the owner started building the house but then ran out of money and was unable to finish the home.

According to Distractify, a number of people have mistaken the home's location to be in/near Nashville, Tennessee. There are also claims that the home was bought for Taylor's parents but was then left empty following their divorce. While Taylor's parents did in fact divorce, everything else isn't quite true. The home is in Schnecksville, PA, and it hasn't been owned by anyone except the original builder, who bought the lot in 1997 and started building in 2000- well before Taylor Swift would have had the money to buy a lemonade, let alone a house.

The home is for sale in Lowhill Township, Pennsylvania, at 4130 E Wyndemere Circle. And judging by the photos on the website and the abundance of weeds in the more recent video, I'll bet it has been sitting unsold for a long time.

If you're interested, it has 9 bedrooms, 7.5 baths, 16,000 sq ft of space, and sits on a 5.65 acre plot of land. Only downside is that you'll need to finish building, weed the hell out of the surrounding land, and put up a fence to keep out the Swifties.
